First prize winner of the Golt tournament 2004

HSBC hosted the 3rd annual "HSBC Golf Tournament" sponsored by the Bank at the Bhatiary Golf and Country Club in Chittagong on 03 December 2004. Golfers and customers from both Chittagong and Dhaka were present at the tournament.

Major General Moeen U. Ahmed, psc, Chief of General Staff, Army Headquarter, Dhaka was the chief guest and the GOC of Chittagong Cantonment as special guest were guests of honour at the prize giving ceremony. Major General Moeen thanked HSBC for inviting him as Chief Guest and hoped that HSBC would continue tournaments like this in the future. Mr David J H Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC in Bangladesh delivered a speech following lunch, highlighting HSBC's involvement in the community and thanking the distinguished guests for their participation and the corporate sponsors for their sponsorship of the raffle draw. Mr Adil Islam, Corporate Banking Head and other Senior Executives of HSBC in Bangladesh were also present in the occasion.

The 1st prize winners in the gents and ladies sections of the Golf Tournament received air-tickets including accommodation for the HSBC World Match Play Championships to be held in 2005 in UK. Prizes were also awarded for best gross and runner-ups.

This initiative is a part of the global "HSBC in the Community" programme, which reflects the Bank's ongoing contribution to the local community.
