HSBC Bangladesh staff celebrate Pohela Boishakh


HSBC staff are seen with traditional attire in the first working day of 1413, the Bengali New Year, at work

The staff of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Ltd in Bangladesh celebrated the start of the Bengali New Year 1413 by wearing traditional attire at work. The male staff members wore the traditional clothes of Pajama-Punjabi while the female staff members wore Red and White saris. This is the first time that HSBC staff have welcomed the Bengali New Year in this manner and this initiative was widely appreciated by all customers.

In addition, the staff voluntarily donated money within an earthen bank. The amount raised will be used to provide lunch for the children of two schools in Dhaka and Chittagong. Both these school provide free education to kids of slum areas.

This initiative is part of the Bank's ongoing commitment to be in tune with the local culture and community.
