In line with the "HSBC in the community" programme, the donations raised from the HSBC Charity Golf Tournament in December 2002 was handed over to the LIONS Clubs International towards their Project for Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate, Milon Akhkhar Gyan School, Shishu Polli Plus and the School of Hope. The charities each received an amount of Tk. 206,250, which will go towards the surgery of cleft lip and cleft palate operations, purchasing supplies for both the schools and for providing food and accommodation for the orphanage.
